From the organizer

Lava Mae, a San Francisco-based nonprofit transforming the way Communities see and serve people moving through homelessness, and Project Homeless Connect are teaming up for a “Day of Dignity” to deliver essential services for those experiencing homelessness in SF.

On Tuesday, May 23 from 10am to 2pm at the San Francisco Public Library’s Main Branch, a special Lava Mae Pop-Up Care Village will celebrate the launch of PHC’s new CareVan and highlight the importance of partnerships to best serve people moving through homelessness and maximize collective impact.

The event will bring together nonprofits, businesses, and volunteers to provide hundreds of homeless guests with showers (Lava Mae), hygiene kits (Simply the Basics), clothing (Street Store), meals (RePlate), dental care (Studio Dental), music (Singers on the Street), haircuts and more – all delivered with ”radical hospitality” – an unexpected level of care designed to help restore dignity, rekindle optimism, and fuel a sense of opportunity.
