What's the opposite of Pride?
Shame, of course. That's no doubt what the driver of this car felt last night as he or she attempted to enter the Muni tunnel -- on the outbound side, no less! SFist reports that a "gaggle of passersby" tried to dislodge the car. The driver was "booked on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving on train tracks and failure to obey a stop sign," according to the 'Fist. Thankfully, no one was injured. Haighteration reader Ashley S. witnessed the foolishness around 11:30pm, and sent in this account:An impossibly bright LED sign was installed at the entrance two years ago in the hopes of preventing such incidents, but as this case and a similar one a year ago prove, there's only so much you can do to stop an absent-minded (or impaired) driver.
Update: Apparently this was the other Duboce Muni tunnel, at Duboce and Noe. Perhaps we need a second impossibly bright sign?
