Inside Bacon Bacon, Now Back In BusinessPhotos: Camden Avery/Hoodline
After a painful, protracted, and much-documented closure, we're happy to report that Bacon Bacon (205A Frederick Street) is finally back in business.

We stopped by on Saturday, their first day after re-opening the doors, to see the action for ourselves and to speak with owner Jim Angelus.

"It's just great to be back in the space," Angelus said amid a roomful of customers.

Kitchen staff was in a flurry of activity filling orders for dine-in and takeout customers, and the newly renovated space, complete with extra seating, a new configuration, fresh paint and a general facelift, was enjoying its first sight of the sun after months under wraps.

The decor also features a coin-op mechanical pig, perfect for entertaining the kiddos.

The new menu (below) features such delights as bacon croissants and scones (there's a breakfast menu for those of you running down the hill to the bus), grilled cheese (with bacon jam!), burgers, banh mi, other lunch-y treats and a full, grownup coffee menu.

"Yeah," said Angelus, "we're definitely here to stay."
