We've got a doozy of a leftovers drawer to start your Memorial Day weekend off right, from new drink pop-ups to real estate gossip to a very mysterious message from a (possibly interstellar) unknown entity.

But first, a serious note. There have been a couple crimes in the area this week, including a shooting last night and the theft of Sean Lennon's beats a couple days ago. We'll have a separate post or two on those once we get more information.

PROXY PROJECT PROGRESSES
Basic Training's pop-up fitness hub continues to take shape over at PROXY, with the addition of the spray-painted ground pattern designed by Matt Hulme of Suppenküche and Biergarten (see photo, above).

EVERYTHING MUST GO
Many of Hayes Valley's surfeit of retail outlets are putting on Memorial Day sales this weekend, so it's a good time to go for a stroll and check out the goods, including moving sale items from In Bed (they close on Sunday) and bikes from new shop PUBLIC.

IN BED SPACE FOR LEASE
Speaking of In Bed, it's worth noting that the corner space has hit Craiglist with a post advertising a short-term lease to Feb 28, 2015. Rent is listed at $7,000 and it's available June 15th, so it sounds like that earthquake retrofitting we heard about—as well as the potential new tenant—may not be happening after all.

MOOSE JUICE AT TWO SISTERS
If all that Memorial Day shopping makes you thirsty, head on over to Two Sisters Bar and Books, which (in addition to their alcohol selection) is now hosting a pop-up from local juicemongers Happy Moose Juice. As of May 20th, they're open 9am-3pm Tuesday through Sunday. (579 Hayes)

FLUX COFFEE/SAM'S PATISSERIE AT ALTERNATIVE APPAREL
Alternative Apparel continues their Saturday vendor series today with Arsalan from Flux Coffee, who'll be serving up two different cold brews. According to Michelle at the shop, "his coffee has the highest percentage of caffeine of any other brand I've seen and tasted without the acidic after taste and bitterness." He'll be coming in with coffee kegs (yes you heard that right),  including one that apparently tastes like a stout. They'll also have mom-and-pop outfit Sam's Patisserie in the shop today with an array of pastries that focus on Indonesian flavors.  (424 Hayes)

MONEY MACHINE
If you're a neighborhood Wells Fargo customer, you might be interested to know there's a new ATM going in 463 Gough (at Ivy). That is all.

DO YOU LIKE CEREAL?
And finally, have you spotted some strange flyers posted around the neighborhood? Yeah, we're talking about these ones:

In the name of neighborhood journalism, we called up the number and got an interesting pre-recorded message for our troubles:

"Planet Earth … about to be recycled. Your only chance to survive, or evacuate, is to leave with us."

We left an inquisitive message, and later that day received a text from parts unknown. "My name is Zip Swindles. I do it because it makes me laugh."

And there you have it folks. Enjoy your weekend, wherever it takes you.
