There are good local tippers, and there are bad local tippers. The good kind tip their neighborhood waiters, bartenders, and baristas—not to mention their local blogs. The bad kind tip over two-wheeled vehicles, it seems.

Yes, we've received a handful of reports in recent weeks of parked motorcycles and scooters being knocked over in the neighborhood—specifically on or near Pierce Street.

In one incident two weeks ago, which we covered in Lower Haight Leftovers, a reader reported his orange and black KTM Superduke (pictured above) getting mysteriously knocked over on Haight near Pierce, moved, and re-parked in front of a nearby driveway.

Around the same time, we received word of a Vespa parked on Pierce Street between Page and Oak being found on its side by its owner.

Then, yesterday morning, a reader spotted the same KTM Superduke from earlier, as well as a scooter, knocked over on Pierce just south of Page. "Superduke was almost on top of the scooter making it difficult to attempt to even pick up ... Looks deliberate," the reader reported.

But are these tippings deliberate? Or just the aftermath of some sloppy parking attempts? Or something else entirely? We can't say for sure. If you own a motorcycle or scooter and have experienced a similar incident recently, let us know. Otherwise, you may want to steer clear of parking near Pierce, just in case.
