Some seasonal eats, a few local events, and one strange Craigslist ad all make appearances in today's Lower Haight Leftovers. Let's dig in...
UPDATE: Somehow we got this date totally wrong. The Fred Lyon event takes place in two weeks, on December 6th. Apologies for any confusion!
New Lower Haight cream puff joint Choux has some new fall flavors for your enjoyment. They include "Lauren," (pumpkin chai custard, cinnamon icing, and white chocolate), "Shirah," (caramel custard, apples, and caramel almond crunch), and "Ruben," (banana custard, white chocolate, and peanut butter). Online ordering and delivery are now available too, just in time for your holiday planning.
Speaking of new seasonal flavors, Anchor has just released a new Winter Wheat beer, which SFWeekly describes as surprisingly dark, "much more like a crisp porter or well-rounded doppelbock than... any traditional wheat beer." It'll be on tap at Toronado and The Page as of the end of this week. So, possibly now.
SFist spotted a humorous Craigslist ad posted by someone whose car got broken into somewhere in the Lower Haight. The ad's author ponders why virtually nothing was stolen from his car, but laments that his vintage pack of Harry and the Hendersons trading cars was opened. It's a funny read, if a bit bizarre.
Just a reminder that tomorrow is vinyl cleaning day at Rooky Ricardo's. Bring up to three of your crackliest albums down to the shop for an ultrasonic scrubbing for just $2.50 each. That's noon to 6pm at 448 Haight.
And finally, a reminder that Sunset Tunnel track work continues this weekend, so the N-Judah line will be replaced with a bus shuttle from tonight through Monday morning.
