Here are a few lowlights from the local crime scene, as gleaned from the SFPD, the interwebs, and our readers.

On Thanksgiving eve, a Walter Street resident reported that a "horrible transient plant thief" had snatched eight plants from his property. The resident posted a video to NextDoor clearly showing a man pulling sidewalk plantings out of the ground and stuffing them in a plastic bag. This is the same Duboce Park-adjacent location where a plant thief struck a year ago, though it's hard to discern from the video whether it's the same thief.

On December 5th at 8pm, a man and woman were at home on Lloyd Street between Scott and Divisadero when they heard a noise. The woman walked to the dining room where she saw a man reaching in through an open window. The suspect took a jacket and fled the scene.

On December 7th at 2am, a man was approached by a knife-wielding mugger near the corner of Haight and Fillmore. The suspect stole the victim's wallet and then stabbed him in the leg. The victim was taken to SFGH with non-life-threatening injuries; the suspect fled the scene on foot.

That same day around 2:30pm, a woman reported that five paintings had been stolen from her car near Duboce Park:

Also that day around 3pm, a man took a cab to Laussat and Buchanan. Once he arrived, the passenger pulled out a gun and demanded the driver's money. The driver complied. The passenger then demanded that the driver rip out the cab's security camera and give it to him; the driver again complied. The suspect took the camera and fled.

Yesterday afternoon a taxicab and a Muni bus had a minor collision on the 700 block of Haight Street. It doesn't appear that there were any injuries, though it did impact traffic on the block for a brief while.

Finally, the Duboce Triangle Neighborhood Association (DTNA) reports in its December newsletter that a bench installed at the corner of Noe and Henry this summer was recently stolen. The bench was made by a local resident and funded via a $1000 gift from the crew of the HBO show "Looking." If you stole the bench, or are interested in helping to replace it, you're asked to contact DTNA Vice President Erik Honda at erikhonda49 [at] gmail {{dot}} com.
