VeganBurg Opening Pushed To NovemberPhoto: Veganburg/Facebook

We reported back in April that Singapore-based vegan hamburger chain VeganBurg was shooting for an August opening date for its very first U.S. location, at 1466 Haight. Since we know you're dying to have that long-vacant All You Knead slot filled, we reached out to VeganBurg's head of marketing, Cynthia Riddell, to learn more.

Riddell told Hoodline that the chain is now shooting for an opening date of November 1st, to coincide with World Vegan Day. Riddell says the company is excited to open on World Vegan Day because they're "all about redefining veganism."

"VeganBurg is an ethical fast food empire with an innovative approach to serving tasty plant-based burgers with a fresh attitude. Burgers of the new generation, our mission is to inspire and excite the world to choose a plant-based diet as a means of planet restoration."

She says the interior design will be "raw, industrial, safari chic," with lots of dark wood, green accents, and clean white spaces. "We're having lots of fun with the designs, and we think it'll be a great fit for the neighborhood," Riddell said.

She sent us some concept images to illustrate the look and feel of the upcoming space:

As for the menu, it will be very similar to the one you can find on their website, although Riddell made sure to mention that the "Creamy Shrooms Burger" would be available at the Haight Street location.

They're also hiring for several full-time positions. Here's what they're looking for:

  • Restaurant Manager (full-time)
  • Assistant Restaurant Manager (full-time)
  • Front of House, Leader (full-time)
  • Front of House, 2nd Leader (full-time)
  • Back of House, Leader (full-time)
  • Back of House, 2nd Leader (full-time)
  • Office Administrator (part-time, starting at about five hours per week, and leading to full-time as the business grows)

You can check out job listings here, although Riddell says that some of the descriptions aren't up yet. They expect to have them live in a few days.
