At long last, the Fell and Gough intersection finally has a crosswalk on its western edge. Until now, pedestrians have had to maneuver past three intersections to continue walking along the same side of the street. We first covered the issue way back in 2012, and construction on the project began a little over a month ago.
SFMTA Livable Streets celebrated by posting the above photo on its Facebook page. "Two bulb-outs to shorten the crossing and a pedestrian head start at the signal help people cross the street, where for many years it was closed," the caption read. Happy (safer) walking, Hoodline readers.
