A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the stabbing death of 29-year-old Joseph Razo, the Examiner reports.

Razo, a local DJ who worked as a data analyst at Apple, was stabbed around 2am on Monday, Jan. 25th, outside The Cellar nightclub at Taylor and Sutter streets. According to the Chronicle, Razo and a friend were leaving the club when they noticed another friend being attacked by a mob of at least seven people. They attempted to help, but were both pulled into the fight. One individual pulled out a knife and began stabbing both Razo and his friend before the group fled.

After a week of surgeries at SF General, Razo, who was stabbed in the aorta and had severe internal bleeding, took a turn for the worse. His family made the decision to remove life support on Tuesday, and he died surrounded by more than 40 family members and friends. His friend, whose identity has not been released, was also badly injured, but is expected to make a full recovery.

The suspect, Nestor Canchola, is being held in county jail on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, although charges have not been filed yet.
