TL Week: Moving Block Party, Gentrified Art Show, Black History Month Films & MorePhoto: Brittany Hopkins/Hoodline

If the allure of seeing Alicia Keys in the flesh still isn't enough to convince you to head down to Super Bowl City, how's this for an alternative weekend itinerary...

Start your Saturday by throwing on a funky costume, making a banner or grabbing an instrument and marching around Civic Center with the Moving Block Party to protest artist displacement. Once you're partied out, pop into The Luggage Store Gallery to see a new exhibition depicting gentrification and life in the inner city. The following day, spend the afternoon watching black history films at the Main Public Library or just give in to the hype and watch the Big Game with neighbors at PianoFight.

There's plenty more good stuff happening in this neighborhood and beyond this weekend, so check out hoodline.com/events to devise your own lineup of Super Bowl celebrations or distractions.

And, if there's an event you'd like to see on our new calendar, you can submit it here for free. If it's a good fit, your event will appear on our new calendar and within the Hoodline news feed — seen by thousands of local readers every day. It may even be featured in one of these weekly roundups.
