SFPD released the name of the gun-toting suspect who led police on a wild rooftop chase in Nob Hill on April 16th, along with booking charges. A booking photo hasn't been released due to pending identification matters.

Alexander Kolesnikov, 34, of Vacaville, was booked on burglary, possession of stolen property, kidnapping, assault, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, using a firearm in commission of a felony, resisting/delaying/obstructing a peace officer, brandishing a firearm at a peace officer, vandalism and possession of a BB/pellet gun.

He was also booked on active warrants for possession for sale of a controlled substance, bringing a controlled substance into a jail or correctional facility, and stealing a car; the Marin Independent Journal reported on a car theft by a man matching his name and age.

In Saturday's incident, SFPD officers responded to a call about stolen luggage on the 1300 block of Pacific Avenue, then received a call that the suspect had broken into a residence on the 1500 block of Leavenworth and was holding a victim at gunpoint. Officers found the suspect in the building on Leavenworth. The suspect pointed a handgun at the officers and they ordered him to drop it; instead, he fled on foot and jumped three or four stories, landing on a car and then the sidewalk. No shots were fired.
