After Pride, Leather Week is San Francisco's biggest LGBT weekend, with people traveling from all over the world for events across the city. Many people even say that they look forward to Folsom Street Fair more than Pride.
This week, we're going to take a look at Folsom-themed events in the Castro and beyond. Folsom is a great time to step outside of your comfort zone, and check out some different venues and parties at places you may not normally visit. It's looking like the weather forecast is going to cooperate this weekend with sunny skies, so if you're planning to be outdoors, make sure you lather up with plenty of sunscreen and drink plenty of water in between those beers and cocktails.
Tonight, head to Powerhouse in SoMa for Dirty Alley: The Folsom Addition, where Mr. S Leather will be taking over the bar for a night of demos and debauchery. If something more tame is your speed, you can also stop by Midnight Sun for their new karaoke night.
On Thursday, actor and author Alan Cumming will visit the Castro Theatre to promote his latest book, You Gotta Get Bigger Dreams. For something a little more raunchy, Baloney's Red Hot Folsom Show at Oasis might be right up your alley: here's our profile of the racy all-male gay cabaret.
Need to get some new gear for the weekend? Then Geared Up: The Folsom Party at Mr. S on Friday and Saturday is the place to go. Pick up a new harness or jockstrap and mingle with all the kinky folks visiting town, then show off your new gear at Lookout's DILF on Friday night.
On Saturday night, Code at The Edge will bring a kinky leather night to the Castro. Afterwards, head over to Magnitude at The Midway in Dogpatch and dance the night away with over 3,000 leathermen.
And of course, Sunday is the Folsom Street Fair, with many stages and kinky exhibitors. If the crowds get too large and you're looking for somewhere to take a break, drop in to Top the Hole at DNA Lounge. They'll have three separate stages, including an outdoor disco, a '90s main stage and an upstairs make-out room.
Not in the mood for Folsom on Sunday? Spend the day with Doc Brown, Marty McFly and their DeLorean time machine at the Castro Theatre for a Back to the Future triple feature that also includes director Robert Zemeckis' film Used Cars. Great Scott!
After all of the fun of Folsom Weekend, don't forget that on Monday, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will be facing off in their first presidential debate. Hi Tops will be hosting a viewing party; it's sure to be a crazy night that you won't want to miss.
Have a great Folsom!
