New Downtown Vegan Spot 'CRATE Miami' Opens Its DoorsPhoto: Karen E./Yelp

If you've got vegan on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The new arrival to Downtown, called CRATE Miami, is located at 901 S Miami Ave.

The new spot is characterized by a "plant-based culinary philosophy," with chef Christopher Baugh fashioning the menu based on "international plant-based cuisines from the most progressive and health-conscious culinary destinations."

Expect menu items like the Hula Burger with grilled pineapple, caramelized onions and teriyaki sauce ($10), tacos and burritos featuring your choice of jackfruit asada, crispy "chicken," fried avocado and buffalo "wings" ($11-$13) and more, plus smoothies, juices, coffee and a selection of vegan cakes.

CRATE also offers a dozen cocktail options, including piña coladas, hurricanes and daiquiries ($10-$14). Take a peek at the full menu here.

The new arrival has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 17 reviews on Yelp.

Michael W., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 12th, said: "Woohoo!! An awesome vegan place open late (4am) on the weekends?! Can it be true?!"

Yelper Yesenia D. added: “It's about time a vegetarian/vegan restaurant opens up in Brickell. I absolutely love the concept of this restaurant. Just because they only offer vegetarian options don't let that stop you from coming here!"

And Valerie U. said: "Beautiful place and awesome food! Very casual/fancy vibe. I live around here and I'm not quite sure when they opened this place but I'm so happy with it because of its plant based menu!!"

Listed at two dollar signs on Yelp, you can expect to spend $11-$30 per person on a visit to CRATE Miami.

Head on over to check it out: CRATE Miami is open Thursday–Saturday from 11am–4am, and Sunday–Wednesday from 11am–11pm.
