Pinecrest Police Rally Community in Manhunt for Armed Suspect Accused of Attempted MurderSource: Pinecrest Police Department

The manhunt intensifies as Pinecrest Police call upon the public to aid in tracking down a suspect branded "armed and dangerous". Jefferey Manuel Chamorro, 31, stands accused of first-degree attempted murder after allegedly unleashing a hail of bullets upon a man's vehicle in a quiet residential neighborhood, according to WSVN.

The altercation occurred on April 17 near 8200 Southwest 128 Street, Pinecrest, where, according to police reports, Chamorro fired five shots into the driver's side door of the victim's car. The intended target, who escaped unharmed, reportedly gave chase but ultimately lost Chamorro in the ensuing traffic, as noted by WSVN.

Law enforcement had previously been in communication with Chamorro and had negotiated terms for his surrender, yet the suspect remains at large. His last known vehicle, a grey 2016 Cadillac SUV, bears the license plate RFIW55. The Pinecrest Police Department is urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to step forward and assist in apprehending Chamorro before another act of violence shakes the community.

Amidst the ongoing investigation, details surrounding the identity of the victim and the motive behind the attempted shooting remain under wraps. However, records obtained highlight a troubled past; Chamorro's history is peppered with offenses ranging from domestic battery and drug possession to filing false insurance claims, according to NBC Miami.

The Pinecrest Police Department continues to stress the gravity of this situation and implores the public to contact their Criminal Investigation Division at 305-234-2100 or Crimestoppers at 305-471-8477 with any information that could aid in capturing the fugitive.
