New Cajun/Creole Spot 'The Blazin Crab' Debuts In EncinoPhoto: Rae H./Yelp

Looking to chow down on some Cajun/Creole fare? A new spot has you covered. Located at 17237 Ventura Blvd. in Encino, the new arrival is called The Blazin Crab.

The Blazin Crab—which has its flagship location in Fontana—specializes in Creole cuisine with a California twist. The menu is extensive, so expect to see a wide array of appetizers, signature dishes and seafood by the pound. 

For starters, there's items like Cajun garlic fries, fried calamari, fish tacos, egg rolls and more. Signature dishes include grilled Cajun tilapia, mango shrimp salad and a banh mi Vietnamese sandwich with shrimp or Cajun fish. 

The seafood by the pound is market price, and features a variety of options like clam, crawfish, lobster, snow crab, king crab, and Dungeness crab. (You can check out the full menu here.)

With a 4.5-star rating out of 13 reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer has already made a good impression.

Ju Youn L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 4th, said: "I already saw this brand on KTLA this morning and I found out the same brand at the Encino. it looked amazing on TV, so I stepped in with some expectation. The servers and manager were friendly."

Yelper Ben T. added: “Impressed. Glad to see a good creole spot open up within walking distance from work. Restaurant is spacious with room to breathe. Big TVs everywhere playing sports in HD. It does not smell fishy.”

And Evelyn H. said: "Food was great. We went during the weekend and it was dead when we arrived. A few minutes later, we had a full house."
