San Jose Streets Transform into Vibrant Spaces with Viva CalleSJ's Last Event of the SeasonSource: Viva Calle San Jose

For those who may not be familiar, Viva CalleSJ is a renowned open streets event hosted by the City of San Jose Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department, which creates an accessible and inviting space for people to explore the city streets in a whole new way. By temporarily closing certain streets into car-free zones, Viva CalleSJ encourages residents to come together with their bicycles, skates, or even on foot. According to San Jose's City website, the event's final iteration for the season will take place on Sunday, September 10.

Spanning across 6 miles of city roads, the event route meanders from Jackson Street to Keyes Street, incorporating portions of 4th Street and connecting up with Pepitone Avenue and Senter Road. Participants can look forward to visiting one of the three lively activity hubs strategically placed along the way: Japantown, Kelley Park, and Tamien Park. A plethora of entertainment options awaits visitors at these hubs, ranging from delectable food trucks to live music stages, and a variety of engaging activities designed to suit every age group.

Adding a touch of excitement, this Viva CalleSJ event is offering a special treat for animal enthusiasts: Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, situated within Kelley Park, will grant free admission to all Viva CalleSJ participants from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m (*Limited operations and capacity).
