Spike in Neighborhood Crimes in Daly City: Theft, Break-Ins, and Vehicle Burglaries Leave Residents UneasySource: Google Street View

Recent years have seen a rise in neighborhood criminal activities, provoking anxiety among residents. A case in point is the spike in crimes detailed in the Crime Alert Bulletin by the Daly City Police Department for October 23-29, ranging from robberies to burglaries, vehicle thefts, and more.

For this period, multiple troubling incidents sprawled across the affected areas. A notable event was on October 24 when three teenagers, in an audacious act, stole approximately $100 worth of alcohol from Punji Liquors. On the following day, a rather unexpected incident took place where a woman's iPhone 13, currently priced over $1,100, was stolen in a Walgreens parking lot.

There were also recorded break-ins at residences and businesses during the week. One such example is a residential break-in on Fernwood Avenue on October 26, eerily reminiscent of earlier break-ins at 24 Hour Fitness and City Toyota. The targeted properties suffered extensive losses, showing the criminals' growing boldness.

The week was also marked by several vehicle thefts and attempted thefts. A total of four vehicles were stolen whereas two attempts to steal cars were thwarted. Adding to this, two vehicle burglaries indicate the pervading unease among citizens.

Additionally, 151 diverse incidents were observed throughout the week, which included domestic disturbances and involuntary psychiatric interventions to public inebriation and hit-and-run accidents.
