Point Reyes Closes Popular Trails Limantour and Mount Vision Roads Due to Storm DamageSource: National Park Service

Trekkers in Point Reyes looking to get their hike on will have to reroute their plans on Monday, February 19. Due to storm-related havoc, Limantour Road is a no-go, remaining closed through at least Monday, the Point Reyes National Seashore service advises.

The same goes for Mount Vision Road, folks. For those lugging their backpacks with dreams of hitting the trailheads along or off of Limantour Rd, it's time to switch up your plans. According to a recent post on the Point Reyes National Seashore's Instagram, it's a no-show for these paths until the area is safe for public romping again.

Now, if you've been itching to take a peek at the historic lighthouse or just want to let the ocean soothe your soul, you're in luck — kind of. Drakes Beach Road is your ticket in from 10 am to 4 pm, weather permitting. The same goes for the Lighthouse Visitor Center, which will be receiving guests during the same timeframe, but keep in mind this is all pending the weather gods play nice.

For those hoping for the quintessential lighthouse experience, take note: while you can immerse yourself in the beacon's storied past at the visitor center, "the stairs down to the lighthouse will be CLOSED all day," says the official communication from Point Reyes.
