An Apple Valley man was nabbed after he allegedly swiped several vehicles from a local business, officials said.

Jesse Palmer, 42, was arrested following a burglary at Roto Rooter Plumbers on April 21, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. The business president stumbled upon the crime scene after being alerted by an alarm activation and discovered vehicles were gone along with property damage.

Deputy K. Mullins was on the scene investigating the break-in while his peers hunted for the missing vehicles, said the Sheriff's Department report. They were able to track down the stolen vehicles, thanks to equipped tracking devices, locating them near Joshua Road and State Highway 18.

Upon discovery, Palmer was found alongside the nicked dump truck and trailer, with a backhoe in tow. He allegedly drove them through the business's fence to make his getaway. While three other individuals were found with Palmer, authorities determined they were not connected to the vehicle theft.

After his arrest on charges including burglary, grand theft, and possession of a stolen vehicle, Palmer was released. The plundered properties have been returned to their rightful owner.

The case is set to be reviewed by the Victorville District Attorney's Office for potential charges. Meanwhile, Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station encourages anyone with further information about the incident to get in touch with Deputy Mullins or to remain anonymous by reaching out to the We-Tip Hotline.
