In a startling display of violence over a seemingly mundane act, a Broward County man is behind bars after allegedly hurling a brick at a woman’s face in response to her littering, law enforcement officials reported. The disturbing occurrence unfolded in Pompano Beach last summer, with the perpetrator, identified as Chaddie Maurice Harrison, 42, being apprehended on Monday, according to Local 10 News.

The assault took place on August 25, 2023, in a parking lot at 190 NE 12th Avenue, when Harrison spotted the victim, an acquaintance of his, discarding a soda can on the ground instead of disposing of it properly. Deputies detailed that Harrison became, "irate," after witnessing the act. He subsequently forced his way into the woman's black Jeep, destroying the door's threshold, and proceeded to strike her multiple times with a brick. The victim’s injuries were severe, with "several cuts and hematomas to her forehead, eyes, nose, and cheeks," potentially leaving her with permanent disfigurement, WSVN reported.

Following the incident, the woman required urgent medical attention and was transported to Broward Health Imperial Point for treatment. Officials issued a warrant for Harrison’s arrest and on Monday, months after the incident, law enforcement took him into custody.
