Downtown Gets A New Food Stand: 'PBJ.LA'Photo: Cyrus M./Yelp

Looking for a new food stand to check out? Look no further than this new arrival. The fresh arrival to Downtown, called PBJ.LA, is located at 317 S Broadway.

Adam Fleischman, founder of famed burger joint Umami Burger and pizzeria 800 Degrees Pizza, brings something familiar and reminiscent of childhood to DTLA's Grand Central Market by way of a small kiosk serving up a crustless peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

There's the Old School, which is simply PB and either strawberry or grape jelly. Or the New School, made with almond butter and a choice of jell

If you're looking for something a little more daring, check out the Indian version with curried cashew butter, spicy mango chutney, arugula, and sliced dikon radish. Or try the Italian, made with toasted pine nut butter and sage, basil cherry tomato jam, arugula, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic, and buffalo mozzarella (sub the cheese for a smoked vegan provolone).

Fleischman also is serving house-made almond milks infused with flavors like vanilla lavender and Peruvian cacao.

With a four-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, PBJ.LA has gotten a good response.

Kris J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 14th, said: "This is a fun new spot in the Grand Central Market! You can't miss it. There are purple neon signs to grab your attention. Super hip and modern decor."

Yelper Teddy S. added: “I had their Lavender Almond milk. It was the perfect drink to go along with one of their impressively crafted sandwiches. Alas and I had already stuffed my face so I didn't try one.”

And Mista B. said: "Ahmazing!! If you like pb&j sandwiches this is a must visit place! Tried the old fashion and new school and the Italian and all were soooooo good. I can't wait to come back and try the rest!"

Head on over to check it out: PBJ.LA is open daily from 11am–4pm.
