Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top yoga joints around Laguna Beach, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture the next time you're in the market for a new yoga class.

1. Sunset Stand Up Paddle

Topping the list is Sunset Stand Up Paddle, which specializes in paddleboard yoga. Located at 825 S. Coast Highway, it is the highest-rated yoga program in Laguna Beach, boasting five stars out of 41 reviews on Yelp. 

The paddle instruction features a 2017 fleet of Red Paddle Co. boards, along with qualified instructors and unique classes like paddleboard yoga situated right on the water.

Yelper Katy C. wrote, "This was my first time doing paddleboard yoga and my first time on a paddleboard. ... Erin was wonderful in guiding us out onto the water safely. She was a great instructor during the yoga session and challenged us to try the different poses."

2. Pacific Blue Yoga

Next up is Pacific Blue Yoga, situated at 1833 S. Coast Highway, Suite 120. Located just steps away from some of the most picturesque beaches in the world, the studio offers a wide array of both heated and non-heated yoga styles, from Bikram and Vinyasa to Yin and Ashtanga. With five stars out of 28 reviews on Yelp, the spot has proven to be a local favorite.

"This yoga studio is so beautiful and well kept," wrote Yelper Connie H. "Super thoughtful layout, and a serene and calm atmosphere. I love the teachers there — they are helpful and very knowledgeable about yoga."

3. Yoga in the Park

Yoga in the Park, located at 30801 Pacific Coast Highway, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the outdoor yoga venue five stars out of 26 reviews.

Sessions are led by registered yoga alliance instructor Carl Brown and take place in Treasure Island Park at Laguna Beach's high-end Montage Resort.

Classes are free; however, donations are encouraged and go to Nepal's Tara Abbey for the education of women. (Visit the website here for more information.)

4. Cho's Academy

Cho's Academy is another much-loved go-to, with five stars out of 21 Yelp reviews. Head over to 1966 S. Coast Highway to see for yourself.

Established in 2009, the multi-discipline academy features yoga classes for every level and age group, offering a "supportive environment for developing all aspects of oneself," per its website.

5. Yoga Sapien

Finally, check out Yoga Sapien, which has earned five stars out of 15 reviews on Yelp. You can find the meditation center and yoga spot at 610 N. Coast Highway, Suite 208.

This newcomer — founded by local Laguna yogis David Taylor and Liz Campbell — offers students "a real yoga home and peaceful refuge so they can time-out and turn inward," the studio says on its website.

Experience level is irrelevant and donation-based classes range from restorative yoga to Vinyasa and Yamuna body rolling. (Check out the full schedule here.)
