In search of a new favorite place for Mediterranean dining? Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top spots around Charlotte, using both Facebook data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list that will help fulfill your craving for pita, meze and more.

Siggy's Good Food

Topping the list is Siggy's Good Food. Located at 1001 Belmont Ave. in Belmont, the Mediterranean spot, whose offerings include sandwiches and juices, is one of the highest-rated Mediterranean restaurants in Charlotte. 

Facebook reviewers have rewarded Siggy's, established in 2005, with 1,908 likes, 133 recommendations and a 4.7/5 rating. One of those reviewers, Jay Hreiz, recently remarked, "Fantastic menu with creative and wholesome food. Staff is happy and very attentive."

Siggy’s specializes in comfort food. Look for salads, sandwiches, vegetable, meats and more, all prepared Mediterranean-style. Options include the steak sandwich with organic, grass-fed beef marinated in rosemary with sauteed mushrooms, onions, tomato, baby greens and vegan mayo, and the Greek Style Quinoa Avocado Salad with avocado, kalamata olives, cucumbers, quinoa, feta, baby greens and lemon vinaigrette. Siggy's Good Food is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, and it closes at 3:30 on Sundays.

Jasmine Grill

Next up is Madison Park's Jasmine Grill, situated at 5033 South Blvd., Suite G. With 1,231 likes, 141 recommendations and a 4.8/5 rating on Facebook, the Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and halal spot has proved to be a local favorite.

Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, Jasmine Grill's menu includes pitas, salads, shawarma and kebab sandwiches for dine-in eating or carryout. Vegetarian options are available. Dishes include the Kofta kebab with ground beef and lamb served with rice and one side, or the falafel wrap with fries.

Facebook reviewer Lori Lee Kelley wrote "The food was fresh and delicious and served very quickly, even during a busy lunch rush on Friday. Will definitely go back for dinner. Price point was unbelievable."

Yafo Kitchen

Myers Park's Yafo Kitchen, located at 720 Gov. Morrison St., Suite 120, is another top choice, with Facebook's users granting the Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Greek spot 35 likes, 44 recommendations and a 5/5 rating.

Expect shawarma-spiced rotisserie chicken, hummus, pickled cauliflower and more. You can also build your own bowl, salad or wrap by picking your spread, toppings, protein and sauce.

Cindy Lynch., who reviewed the spot Nov. 14 on Facebook, wrote, "Yum! The food is fantastic, the flavors are wonderful!"

Yafo Kitchen, which has multiple locations in Charlotte, is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Greco Fresh Grille

Over in Ballantyne, check out Greco Fresh Grille, which has tallied 912 likes, 98 recommendations and a 4.9/5 rating on Facebook. You can find outposts of the Greek and Mediterranean spot at 9820 Rea Road Suite E, and two other locations in the greater Charlotte area.

Look for gyros (both lamb and chicken), Greek salads and more. Options include the falafel pita with lettuce, tomato, red onion and tzatziki sauce; the lamb burger with lettuce, tomato and tzatziki; and the meze platter with three spinach pies, three dolmades, tzatziki, feta, olives, hummus and pita bread. 

Facebook reviewer Sofiya Michael Babinov recently wrote, "Our fave item on the menu is the traditional gyro pita with extra tzatziki sauce and their fresh, home made fries! The atmosphere inside is also wonderful. Definitely a family favorite."

Greco Fresh Grille is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. It offers takeout, catering and outdoor seating.

CAVA

Last but not least there's CAVA, a local favorite with 254 likes, 153 recommendations and an overall rating of 4.9/5 on Facebook. Stop by 8936 JM Keynes Blvd. to hit up the Mediterranean spot's University Place location next time you're in the mood. 

It's a build-your-own-entree affair, with options being a salad, greens & grains, a grain bowl, soup with pita bread, a large pita or two mini pitas. You then add dips and spreads, a protein, toppings and dressings. CAVA also has pre-made entrees.

Facebook reviewer Blake Jarman is one of those who recommends it, recently writing "Delicious healthy food, lots to choose from, & the staff were so welcoming & helpful!"

CAVA is a national chain with over 70 locations across the country, including another on Charlotte's Park Road. Both locations are open from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
