Raise funds for struggling college students

College graduates are invited to a networking mixer this Friday night to help raise funds for current students grappling with rising tuition costs. Hosted by Stoop Nerds and The Baltimore Chapter of the NC A&T Alumni Association, the fundraiser promises "networking, fellowship and comradery" with graduates of various Historically Black Colleges and Universities — and a full cash bar.

When: Friday, Feb. 1, 8 p.m.- Saturday, Feb. 2, 12 a.m.
Where: Showroom Bar at Motorhouse, 120 W. North Ave.
Admission: $5 recommended donation

Explore the latest climate science research

Learn about climate change and its local impact at a teach-in hosted by the Baltimore Peoples Climate Movement. The group will discuss the most recent reports on global warming and what can be done going forward.

Support homeless neighbors and furloughed federal employees

Join Inge Benevolent Ministries on Sunday to assist the community's homeless residents and furloughed federal workers. The group will serve bowls of chili, distribute clothing and toiletries, and provide health screenings to those in need. Furloughed federal workers can also take home $25 gift certificates for each member of their families while supplies last.

When: Sunday, Feb. 3, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Where: 700 Fallsway Bridge Underpass, at East Centre Street and Fallsway
