Itching to get to know the newest businesses to open in San Antonio? From a Mediterranean eatery to a sandwich and smoothie cafe, read on to see the newest spots to make their debut recently.

Mr. Chickpea

Mr. Chickpea is a Mediterranean spot that's located at 17700 San Pedro Ave., Suite 108.

The Lebanese restaurant serves hummus and falafel platters, kebabs, pitas (falafel, lamb, chicken, shish kebab and gyro) as well as baklava. Try the Turkish coffee or mint tea to go along with the meal.

Mr. Chickpea is off to a strong start, with a 4.5-star rating out of two reviews from Yelpers.

San Poke

Stop by 20770 Us Highway 281 North, Suite 105, and you'll find San Poke, a new sushi bar, offering poke, bubble tea and more.

It offers either signature poke bowls or customers can build their own on the menu. Signature options include the San Poke Classic with ahi Tuna, red onion, edamame, cucumber, kale, pineapple salsa, scallion, cilantro, garlic chips, sesame seeds and Sriracha mayo, or the Ninja Shuriken with shrimp tempura, cucumber, purple cabbage, red radish, spinach, kale, garlic chips, sesame seeds, toasted rice puffs, Sriracha mayo and Eel Sauce.

With a 4.5-star rating out of 16 reviews on Yelp so far, the new establishment seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood. 

It's open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and from 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a new spot to score sandwiches and juice and smoothies that's located at 21918 Us Highway 281.

You'll find smoothies such as the a seasonal Mango Turmeric with unsweetened vanilla, almond milk, mango, pineapple and turmeric, and the Kiwi Quencher with kiwi, strawberries and non-fat yogurt. On the food menu, there are quesadillas, flatbreads, wraps, bowls, sandwiches and breakfast options. (Check out the menu here.)  

With a four-star Yelp rating out of eight reviews, Tropical Smoothie Cafe is off to a positive start with locals.  

Drop by from 7 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 8 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.
