New breakfast and brunch spot Penny Oven opens its doors in Eagle RockPhoto: Olivia B./Yelp

A new bakery and cafe has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 2131 Colorado Blvd. in Eagle Rock, the new arrival is called Penny Oven.

On the menu, look for a variety of breakfast and brunch offerings — from albacore tuna toast with house harissa to Dutch baby pancakes with lemon curd and whipped creme fraiche. A kid's menu is on offer as well, along with hot and cold beverages like rosewater lemonade, housemade hot chocolate and double-shot espresso. (You can view the full menu here.)

With a 4.5-star rating out of 22 reviews on Yelp so far, the new addition has been warmly received by patrons.

Anthony D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 5, wrote, "The food here at Penny Oven is excellent. Each item is made by hand, with the freshest possible local ingredients. ... I really enjoyed the croissant sandwich, along with the freshly made baked goods that include amazing cakes and brownies."

"This place was a delight to go to and their food is literally made in a pizza-style oven that is covered in pennies," shared Yelper Brittany M. "This place is definitely family-friendly (they have a play area in the back)."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Penny Oven is open from 7 a.m.–3 p.m. daily.
