Local fans of shoe stores are in luck. Allbirds has added a new location at 1335 Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice.
Allbirds, which has locations in Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, New York City and Seattle, offers specialty shoes inspired by natural materials. According to the website, founders Tim Brown and Joey Zwillinger created a revolutionary wool fabric for the footwear.
Allbirds has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
Kat D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 11, wrote, "The first thing that caught my eye was the array of beautiful colors/shoeboxes posted up against the wall. The store is small, but nonetheless very bright and inviting."
