New Pokeworks location makes Fresh Meadows debutPhoto: Pokeworks/Yelp

Ready for a new sushi bar to spice up your routine? A new Pokeworks outpost has opened up shop at 61-24 190th St., Space 24A in Fresh Meadows.

Pokéworks was found in 2015 and now has franchises across the country. The expanding company boasts its collaboration with chef Sheldon Simeon, a former contestant on Bravo’s Top Chef and the owner and executive chef of Maui’s Tin Roof.

Diners choose a bowl, burrito or a salad, and then select from a list of proteins, which includes shrimp, organic tofu and ginger chicken. Next, patrons can choose from a variety add-in ingredients like mango, edamame, sweet onion and kale. Finally, guests can choose a sauce to complete the order.

Alternatively, patrons can choose one of the signature bowls, like the Hawaiian classic bowl, which combines ahi tuna with green and sweet onions, ogo seaweed, cucumber, roasted sesame oil and Pokéworks' classic sauce. The full menu can be viewed here.

The new locale has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 27 reviews on Yelp.

Hamala N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Sept. 12, wrote, "My first time having a poke bowl and it's safe to say that it won't be my last. This place was very clean and the servers were super attentive to my order. There is also ample indoor and outdoor seating. Don't forget to check in on Yelp for a free beverage!"

Yelper Claire Y. added, “The store is clean, and the staff was friendly. Try the garlic spam musubi. The spicy mayo was a bit salty; consider getting that on the side."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Pokeworks is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m.–10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
