Mangia Macaroni brings Italian fare to Spring GardenPhoto: Katrina M./Yelp

A new pasta shop and Italian spot has debuted in the neighborhood. The newcomer to Spring Garden, called Mangia Macaroni, is located at 1543 Spring Garden St.

Mangia Macaroni serves up homemade Naples-inspired pasta, according to its website. On the menu, expect to see items like butternut squash cannelloni, chicken parmesan and truffle mushroom paninis. Pasta dishes are served with a house salad and bread. Add pork-roasted potatoes or Italian sausage to your meal.

With a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, the new pasta shop has already made a good impression.

Chris L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Oct. 30, wrote, "The pastas are homemade and delicious. I had the rigatoni with Sunday gravy, and it was tasty. It came with a small side salad and a dinner roll."

Yelper Christina W. added, “I got the make-your-own pasta with shrimp. I chose linguine with Alfredo. The food was served in cute little take-out cartons similar to the cartons used in Chinese restaurants. The pasta was fresh, and the sauce was creamy deliciousness."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Mangia Macaroni is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.–7 p.m. on Sunday.
