Solaro brings Italian fare to The West VillagePhoto: A D./Yelp

If you've got Italian on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The fresh arrival to the West Village, called Solaro, is located at 13 Carmine St.

Solaro serves a concise menu of authentic Italian dishes. Check out appetizers like burrata with smoked salmon, octopus with chickpea puree and roasted red beet salad and entrees like straccetti (pan-seared filet mignon with goat cheese and truffle caviar) and sauteed branzino.

With a five-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp so far, the new restaurant has received a warm welcome.

A D., who was among the first Yelpers to review Solaro on Nov. 16, wrote, "Awesome food at this brand-new, family-owned Italian spot in the Village."

Yelper Paola N. noted, “Awesome new Italian spot. Went there with a few friends and had an amazing time!"

Head on over to check it out: Solaro is open from 6–11 p.m. on Tuesday-Friday and 11:30 a.m.–11 p.m. on weekends. (It's closed on Monday.)
