New Latin American spot Del Sur Cafe debuts in Dupont CirclePhoto: Seba S./Yelp

Hungry? A new neighborhood Latin American spot has you covered. Located at 2016 P St. NW in Dupont Circle, the new addition is called Del Sur Cafe.

A signature Uruguayan-style sandwich with New York strip steak, topped with ham, mozzarella, bacon, egg and pickled red bell pepper, Peruvian-style ceviche and vegetarian lentil meatballs with basil and garlic tomato sauce are among the South American menu options.

The new restaurant, by Uruguayan chefs  Marcos Sosa and Juan Machado, has already attracted fans, with a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.

Erin S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 25, wrote, "The ceviche, tomato soup and mahi mahi special were all light and delicious. Citrus embedded in this South American cuisine was refreshing, particularly in the winter."

And Kimberly P. wrote, "Food and wine are tasty, fresh and healthy. I ate vegan and gluten-free, no problem. Avocado corn arepa, lentil balls with tomato sauce and rice, and sweet potato fries with Tannat wine. These are actual dishes on the menu, not modifications."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Del Sur Cafe is open from 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m. on weekdays and noon–10 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
