A tragic scene unfolded in Santa Rosa yesterday evening as a head-on crash claimed one life and left another injured. At around 5:13 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers responded to the incident on Roblar Road west of Stony Point Road. Upon their arrival, accompanied by fire personnel, the grim reality set in—a male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, reported the Santa Rosa CHP.

An initial investigation has uncovered that a female driver of a Volvo SUV, while traveling westbound, allowed her vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic, striking a Toyota truck head-on. The truck's driver sustained fatal injuries during the catastrophic impact. The woman, found to be under the influence of alcohol, sustained major injuries and was later arrested, according to authorities.

The Volvo driver was promptly taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she is currently being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Following the accident, the CHP confirmed her arrest on DUI charges, adding a sobering reminder of the consequences of driving under the influence.
