Assistant Chief Faaborg, first donned the police uniform on October 25, 1996, quickly establishing himself as a pivotal figure within the department. He climbed the ranks, serving in various capacities, from a beat cop to interim police chief. Faaborg has also been a driving force behind several key initiatives including technology projects for the department, the Santa Cop program, and the Polar Plunge event, which supports the Special Olympics.

Among his decorated achievements are two Commendation awards, two Civic Achievement awards, and twenty-four Letters of Commendation. In his personal life, Faaborg's dedication is equally impressive, having been married to his wife Angela for the same length of time as his tenure with the police—27 years. They have three sons together, Tanner, Tyler, and Cody.
