Austin's homegrown P. Terry's Burger Stand, long adored for its burgers and fries, is diversifying its menu by introducing a new item: crispy chicken bites, and for the first time in its 19-year history, patrons can savor something other than a burger at all 32 locations. These chicken bites come hand-breaded with buttermilk, panko breadcrumbs, and a blend of seasonings, stepping up the fast-food game with scratch-made snacks aiming to appeal to poultry enthusiasts, according to CBS Austin.

Explaining the decision to add the bites to the menu, CEO Patrick Terry emphasized freshness, "Due to high demand for our chicken bites, we've only been able to offer this special promotion in a limited number of locations, our kitchen is now able to produce enough scratch made bites to keep up with demand in all 32 burger stands," he said, touting the company's ability to meet the surge in customer appetite and acknowledging the operational scale-up necessary to dish out these new offerings. The bites come in quantities of eight per box and are available for $4.95, a move by the company to solidify consumer loyalty through competitive pricing and quantity, as per  CBS Austin.

Matching the bites are five house-made dipping sauces: Special Sauce, Spicy Special Sauce, Buffalo Sauce, Frankie Sauce, and Ranch, each crafted to complement the bites' savory taste. The introduction of these chicken morsels marks a significant moment for the Texas-based burger chain as it seeks to broaden its offerings and capitalize on the burgeoning demand for chicken products, bringing a homemade touch to what is often a frozen, preservative-filled staple at other fast-food outlets.

Not shying away from a jab at the competition, Patrick Terry emphasized the quality of their product, "While many of our competitors are serving a frozen nugget, literally packed with preservatives and other additives, we sell only a fresh, all-natural product,” he declared proudly, touting the absence of additives and preservatives in their chicken, the company cements its positioning as a provider of cleaner, more wholesome fast food options, as reported by the MYSA. At a time when consumer awareness around food quality is skyrocketing, P. Terry's latest menu addition could just be the smart move needed to cluck its way to the top of the fast-food pecking order, in a way that's thought to be very reminiscent of their dedication to quality and value.
