The incident took place on the 300 block of 8th Street around 10:52 p.m., where officers discovered casings and other signs of gunfire, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department Blotter.

According to the initial investigation, the confrontation escalated when a male suspect began to openly fire at a vehicle after exchanging words with a female driver. The dust had hardly settled before both the shooter and the driver decided to quickly flee the scene, leaving investigators to piece together what had transpired. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported as a result of the shooting.
