The White House has announced the return of the storied annual Easter Egg Roll event, slated for 2024 with an educational twist spearheaded by First Lady Jill Biden. Embracing the theme of "EGGucation," this year's festivities will transform the White House's South Lawn and Ellipse into a veritable school community, aiming to offer a blend of fun and learning for children in attendance, according to a White House statement.

The traditional egg rolling and hunting activities will be complemented by a variety of other features, including a School House Activity Area, and a "Field Trip to the Farm" where kids can interact with and learn from farmers. Also present will be a "Physical 'EGGucation'" Zone, and a Snack Time Tent, among other attractions. Approximately 40,000 participants are expected to join in on the educational fun, with a significant number being military and veteran families, caregivers, and survivors.

Tickets to the general public were given away via an online lottery, ensuring a wide geographic spread of participants for the nine sessions of the event. The day's festivities will go on from 7:00 AM ET to 7:00 PM ET, with opportunities for remote engagement through social media hashtags, as well as live updates from official White House accounts.

The American Egg Board, representing America's egg farmers, is playing a prominent role in the event as well, continuing a partnership with the White House that has spanned over four decades. The long-standing celebration will feature music, performances, and a diverse range of educational activities, enriching the experience in alignment with the First Lady's educational initiatives.

A comprehensive list of contributors, from children's musicians to notable educators and organizations, promises an event rich with diverse experiences. Highlights include appearances by kid-friendly personalities and characters, like the Care Bears, astronaut Snoopy, and Blue from "IF". Peppering in some athletic spirit, representatives from major sports leagues will also be in attendance, among a myriad other educational and entertainment groups.
