Culver City Partners with Syntrio to Launch Anonymous Hotline for Reporting Municipal CorruptionSource: Google Street View

In an effort to clamp down on corruption and malfeasance, Culver City has teamed up with Syntrio to launch an anonymous tip line aimed at bringing to light any fraud, waste, or abuse involving the use of city resources, officials announced yesterday. The new initiative seeks to protect the city's assets and ensure ethical conduct across the board.

The hotline is intended for use by city employees, contractors, and the general public to report any suspected dishonesty as it pertains to the city's resources. However, it is not designed for issues that don’t, involve fraud, waste, and abuse specific to Culver City resources, which includes personal disputes and emergencies. Detailed information on the hotline's use is available on the city's Fraud, Waste, and Abuse of City Resources webpage.

The city has outlined several forms of corrupt activities that should be reported through this service, including theft of city resources like cash and equipment, record falsification, payroll fraud or time abuse, kickbacks or bribes, the intentional misuse of city equipment or property, contractor fraud, as well as gross mismanagement or disregard of policy and procedural controls. Ethics violations also fall under the scope of this new anti-corruption measure.

To file a report, concerned parties can use multiple avenues, available at any time of the day, any day of the week. Reports can be submitted online, by calling toll-free numbers (833) 370-0033 for English and (800) 216-1288 for Spanish, sending an e-mail to [email protected] with a specific mention of Culver City, or by fax to (215) 689-3885, with a clear indication, that the report concerns Culver City issues.
