Man Arrested in Simi Valley After Boulder Rampage Damages Cars, Assaults HomeownerSource: Google Street View

A crazy scene unfolded in Simi Valley when a man went on a violent rampage, slinging boulders at cars and even attacking a homeowner with hefty stones. Elvin Arturo Velasquez Maldonado, 42, of Pacoima, was the man behind the mayhem, causing chaos in the neighborhood on the 2100 block of Brownstone Creek Ave before he was subdued by a police K9 unit.

According to the Simi Valley Police Department, officers arrived on the scene after getting several 911 calls on May 22 around 5:25 PM. They found a trail of destruction, with parked cars taking heavy damage from large boulders apparently hurled by Maldonado. The ruckus didn't stop there, however, as it turned out he had earlier assaulted the homeowner he was supposed to be working for with a boulder.

Police encountered Maldonado wielding two large rocks, but despite orders to drop them and surrender, he only parted with one. After failing to disarm him by conventional means, a K9 unit was sent in and managed to subdue him effectively. Following his arrest, Maldonado was whisked away to Simi Valley Hospital for a check-up before being hauled off to Ventura County Main Jail.

Now, Maldonado faces serious charges, including Assault with a Deadly Weapon, multiple counts of Felony Vandalism, and Resisting Arrest. Information about the incident was posted by the Simi Valley Police Department following Maldonado's capture.
