A late-night confrontation between Seattle Police and an armed suspect ended in arrest, authorities reported. The incident, which involved a stolen vehicle and a firearm, unfolded on May 25th near 3rd Avenue South and South Holgate Street.

According to the Seattle Police Department's Blotter, the officers from the Community Response Group identified the suspect sitting in a stolen car at 11:16 p.m., when they approached, the 40-year-old man tried to flee by ramming a police car. A struggle ensued, but the officers managed to extract the suspect and detain him.

The aftermath of the encounter saw the police confiscating a handgun, along with three loaded magazines of ammunition. The suspect already wanted on a Burglary 2nd Degree warrant, now faces additional charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle.

Following the arrest, the responsibility of the investigation shifted to the General Investigations Unit, which is leading the case, officers booked the man into King County Jail. Details on the suspect's identity have not been made public, and it's unclear if he has obtained legal representation.
