Early Thursday morning, a shooting at a north Charlotte motel left one person dead, sparking a homicide investigation by local authorities. According to WBTV, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were called to the scene around 4 a.m. at the Budget Inn on Old Interstate Road, located just off Interstate 85 and North Graham Street.

The body of the victim, who has not yet been identified, was found outside the hotel. Maj. Michael Harris confirmed that they were pronounced dead at the hospital after suffering from gunshot wounds. While police stated there is no current threat to the public, the details surrounding the incident remain unclear, with no suspect information released as of yet.
