Fatal Collision Near Santa Rosa Claims One Life, Leaves Another InjuredSource: Google Street View

In a tragic turn of events early this morning, the California Highway Patrol's Santa Rosa area office reported a fatal traffic collision on Old Adobe Road at the intersection of Casa Grande Road. A southbound BMW 328i, while attempting an ill-fated passing maneuver, collided with a Cadillac CTS, according to the CHP - Santa Rosa. The collision occurred around 12:38 am, when the BMW, driven by the now deceased, crossed back into southbound traffic and met the unfortunate embrace of an adjacent eucalyptus tree off the roadway.

The impact prompted a response from emergency personnel who, upon arrival, pronounced the BMW driver deceased at the scene. Traveling southbound just ahead of the BMW, the Cadillac remained unharmed, while its driver survived without injury. The passenger in the BMW, however, was not so fortunate and sustained major injuries. Left to bear the aftermath of the onslaught, the wounded passenger was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

As the CHP continues its investigation, they encourage anyone with information regarding the crash to step forward. Calls can be made to the Santa Rosa CHP office at (707) 806-5600. In their quest for clarity and closure, they urge witnesses to aid in the unwinding of this late-night tragedy that left one dead and another severely injured.

Concerned parties seeking information about the deceased are directed towards the Sonoma County Sheriff Coroner’s office, as the names are held back, for now, pending notification of kin.
