Rock Hill Police have apprehended a fourth suspect in the fatal Southland Park neighborhood block party shooting on June 1. Marques Lavon Pearson, aged 20, was arrested on June 26 and is now facing charges of being an accessory before the fact of murder in the violent incident that tragically ended with two deceased. According to a report from WBTV, the shooting claimed the lives of 44-year-old Montest Mincey and 21-year-old Maricus Kirk.

The response of the officers to the incident came post-haste after calls around 10 p.m. during the Southland Drive event, which had been a longstanding community gathering. In addition to the arrests of Pearson, police have also taken into custody Quantrel Jaeim Barrino, 18; D’markieoun Ji’shae Clyburn, 19; and Tyquarious Davis, 24, for their alleged involvement in the shooting. As reported by QC News, Clyburn stands directly charged with Mincey's murder.

During the chaos of the shooting, a 25-year-old woman was found injured and received on-site treatment, while another individual sustained a minor gunshot graze and sought help at a nearby hospital, WBTV detailed. These events have deeply impacted the Rock Hill community, as local residents mourn the loss and grapple with the violence that interrupted what was meant to be a cheerful community event.
