The upcoming Great Wolf Lodge Texas Gulf Coast in Webster, previously slated to open later in August, is now set to welcome visitors three weeks ahead of schedule. A new opening date has been announced for Wednesday, Aug. 7, marking the debut of the second Great Wolf Lodge location in Texas, following its counterpart in Grapevine. This venture is to substantially increase the availability of family-oriented accommodations and entertainment in the Webster-Houston area.

In addition to ushering in its earlier-than-expected launch, Great Wolf Lodge aims to rapidly expand its workforce. The resort seeks to employ over 600 individuals through a two-week job fair, commencing on Saturday, June 29, at Bayway Village Shopping Mall in Webster, as reported by Houston Chronicle. The recruitment drive is looking to fill a spectrum of roles, from lifeguard and housekeeping positions up to engineering and entertainment related opportunities, with wages starting at $16 and peaking at $27 per hour based on the specific roles.

Kathryn Vela, spokesperson for the City of Webster, expressed the community's enthusiasm for the resort's announcement. "The City of Webster is thrilled that Great Wolf Lodge Texas Gulf Coast will open ahead of schedule," she stated, as detailed in an email referenced by the Houston Chronicle. The local government expects the resort to boost tourism and contribute to the region's economic growth, especially with its proximity to the emerging Flyway Webster, an 80-acre entertainment retail space situated between Houston and Galston.

The resort itself is to offer a variety of facilities including a 532-room hotel, an extensive indoor water park featuring a Texas Twirler slide exclusive to the location, and a 61,000-square-foot adventure park. According to Click2Houston, there will be several indoor and outdoor dining choices, ranging from fast-casual eateries to upscale restaurants, aimed to cater to a wide range of family preferences.

The hiring center for the job fair will be located at 20801 Gulf Freeway, Unit 4, in Webster and is expected to attract a considerable number of applicants eager to join the Great Wolf Lodge family. The Great Wolf Resorts, Inc., as the largest family-oriented center of hospitality, recreation and park destinations in North America housed in one location is branching out in the Webster area with plans also including a Nutcracker Market set for its Christmas holiday debut, according to the same Houston Chronicle report.
