A report by WSOC-TV notes that the altercation began when the driver of an SUV honked persistently at the driver of a black sedan, subsequently escalating to physical aggression. According to witnesses, as the sedan attempted to flee, the SUV driver retrieved an object, described as a stick or rod, from his vehicle and struck the sedan's rear windshield. As the sedan drove away and made a left turn, a gunshot is heard, and the SUV's windshield is visibly struck by a bullet.

Meanwhile, additional details provided by WBTV include the SUV driver throwing water at the black sedan before exiting his vehicle with a baseball bat-type stick to hit the departing car. He was apparently returning to his Toyota SUV when the shot rang out, shattering his own windshield.

A local woman named Vanessa recorded the incident while dining in the popular restaurant Milkbread. She shared the video on Instagram, expressing her shock at the unfolding event. "It was absolutely crazy," Vanessa told WCNC Charlotte. "I was like really shaken up from it." Though a bullet passed through the SUV's windshield, there were minor injuries reported. Police have yet to make any arrests or file charges in the road rage shooting.
