Tragedy struck on the roads of Houston as two separate incidents claimed the lives of a pedestrian and a motorcyclist. According to Click2Houston, a pedestrian was killed on Interstate 45 near Edgebrook in a hit-and-run incident late Saturday night. The Houston Police Department received the call at 10:06 p.m., but upon their arrival, they found neither the vehicle involved nor witnesses to the crash. Currently, they are taking measures such as reviewing security footage and canvassing the area to find the driver responsible.

The circumstances surrounding why the pedestrian was on the highway at that hour remain unclear; this point that the authorities are probing into, along with their search for the driver who fled the scene. In a separate event, a motorcyclist died after a traffic violation chase led to a tragic accident. As reported by ABC13, the incident occurred late Friday night when South Houston police discontinued a pursuit due to traffic violations after three minutes. The rider crashed into a guardrail on I-45 Gulf Freeway at the 610 South Loop shortly thereafter.

The motorcyclist met his fate going over the guardrail at what was described as a high rate of speed, ending up in the southbound lanes of the I-45. While police and fire officials attended swiftly and attempted to administer life-saving measures, their efforts could not alter the course already set in motion - the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, the identity of the individual has been withheld.
