A fatal collision on Highway 288 has led to the closure of the northbound HOV lanes near Airport Boulevard in Houston's southern reaches. Houston Police Department has been working the scene where a pickup truck collided with a maintenance truck, as reported by Click2Houston. This incident has caused a significant alteration in the flow of HOV traffic, now being redirected in Pearland.

Details surrounding the crash remain limited, but what is clear, according to Lt. Larry Crowson of the Houston Police Department during an interview with FOX26 Houston, is that "officers were called around 7:20 p.m. about an accident involving two vehicles." 

The concrete and metal aftermath has now become the subject of an ongoing police investigation as they comb through the debris seeking answers. Traffic diversions remain in place and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes where possible. Meanwhile, the identity of the deceased has not been disclosed.
