A body was discovered under "unknown circumstances" on a roadway near West Lake Hills, prompting an investigation by local authorities. According to KXAN, the body was found around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday near the 4300 block of Westbank Drive near Camp Craft Road.
Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the scene and the individual was declared deceased without any attempts at resuscitation. "Medics obtained a 'deceased on-scene' declaration without utilizing, resuscitative efforts," was the statement given by ATCEMS. Travelers in the area were advised to expect road closures as the investigation continued.
The identity of the deceased has not been released nor have the circumstances leading up to the death. As standard protocol, law enforcement is expected to lead the investigation to determine the cause and manner of death. Traffic was impacted in the vicinity with advisories for detours and delays.
