An evening ride ended in tragedy for a local motorcyclist on the roads of Iredell County. According to WBTV, the NC State Highway Patrol reported that 65-year-old Scott Alexander Turner died following a motorcycle crash on Wednesday. The incident occurred near Weathers Creek Road on Shinnville Road around 7:45 p.m.

Troopers informed WXII 12 that Turner, while riding his Harley-Davidson, crossed the centerline before veering off the road in a fatal wipe-out. Excessive speed has been suggested as a factor contributing to the loss of control, and, ultimately his death. Shinnville Road faced a closure of about two hours as the scene underwent investigation by the authorities.
