Lansing Teens Charged in Aftermath of Drive-by Shooting and Police Chase, Stolen Firearms RecoveredSource: Michigan State Police

Following a drive-by shooting investigation in Lansing, four teenagers face several charges after an altercation that escalated into a police chase and the discovery of stolen firearms. Michigan State Police and Lansing Police Department's search for suspects involved in the June 25 incident led them to the Kensington Meadows Mobile Home Real Park later that day, as reported by Audacy. The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. near Dunckel and Jolly Roads, with no reported injuries.

During the attempted arrest at the mobile home park, the suspect driver rammed into a semi-marked Lansing police car before fleeing the scene with the other juveniles, according to WLNS. Officers managed to stop the suspect's vehicle shortly after, resulting in a brief foot chase that ended with the arrest of four of the suspects. The fifth suspect remains at large, though authorities have confirmed the identity.

The Ingham County Prosecutor's Office has charged the captured suspects, two 18-year-olds and two 16-year-olds. The two adults, identified as Antonio Lara and Tashun Green, have each been charged with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, and one count of resisting and obstructing police, and are currently held in the Lansing City Jail. The juveniles, whose names are withheld due to their age, face similar charges, with the additional counts of fleeing police in the third degree for one of them, as they are lodged at the Ingham County Youth Home, per WILX reports.

Police discovered three stolen guns in the vehicle driven by the suspects. Details regarding the broader motives and circumstances surrounding the initial drive-by shooting remain under investigation, as law enforcement works to ensure that those involved are held accountable. No officers were reported injured during the pursuit and subsequent arrests.
